Help with neighbor's pool

I finally have our pool levels good! I'm helping a neighbor who is dealing with some issues and can't seem to maintain chlorine levels in the saltwater pool.

I originally walked them through the SLAM process, but after testing the water I think high TA may be the culprit.

FC 0
TC 0
pH 7.4
TA 220
CYA 30

They're not very handy and probably won't want to rig up a system to aerate the water. Is the only other solution partial replacement?

Thanks!

TA is not the problem. The lack of free chlorine is definitely a problem and will only get worse by the hour. They need to add liquid chlorine ASAP. Either increase the FC to 12 for a SLAM Process, or add enough to get the FC up to about 5-7 right away then perform an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test.

Ensure there is no algae first, then we can help you (or them) lower the TA.

High ta has nothing to do with the lack of fc.
Have they completed the SLAM Process fully passing all 3 end of slam criteria?
Like @Texas Splash said they need to add liquid chlorine asap & do an oclt. If it fails u must continue slam. If it passes & the water is clear a higher cya (60-80ppm) should help the swg maintain fc better.
Be sure to increase target fc according to the newly tested cya FC/CYA Levels
Keep in mind a swg isn’t designed to overcome an algae issue or bring fc to target levels from zero.

Ta is last on the list of things to worry about.
