Hey guys I had a pool put in a few years back and they put in a Hayward Salt System. I have been having problems with the cell this year so was going to replace and I have a 40,000 gallon pool but they put one that says good up to 25,000. So did I get screwed on that deal? I just looked at prices for Hayward salt cell and it looks like they are almost 1k for the cell. Is that right? Any idea or suggestions someone can give me? Thanks a ton

The TCELL940 is rated for 40k pools:

But we always suggest a cell that 2x your actual pool size but that is not possible in your case.
However, it has a projected life of only 25% more than a standard T-15 cell but usually costs more than 25% of the standard T-15 cell so to me, it doesn't make economic sense going with that version. Plus, the number of people on this forum that have had trouble with the TCELL940 makes it even worse.
