Help with CH Test Reading

I find the CH test the hardest to get a reliable reading. I recently got a SpeedStir which I hoped would make that test easier to perform. Yesterday, I performed the test about 4 times and still not certain what my reading is.

Using the 10ML sample, the sample turned purple at 7drops(175) then light blue at 8drops(200). However it had purple particles floating. I kept adding drops and checked under light after each drop. Each time the sample stayed the same blue, and purple particles got less and less. After 12 drops (300) the purple floaters were gone.

I did it again using the fading endpoint instructions (add a few drops of R-012 first) and had similar results.

So my question, do I calculate CH at 200 or 300? I live in area with high CH so I'm inclined to think it's closer to 300, but want to be sure since the difference between 200 and 300 is important to keep my CSI in check.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen purple flakes. Normally you would add drops until the last drop causes no further color changing the water and then not count that drop. So I would think your CH is 200. But I'm not sure about the particles
