Help with algae and limited test kit

Hello all! I have a 12’ by 48” Intex steel frame pool that is 6423 gallons. We leave the pool up all winter and live in a climate that gets snow. We are trying to get rid of the algae and only have the basic test kit for Free Chlorine, Total Chlorine and PH due to budget. Currently the FC IS .5-1 and the TC is the same.5-1. The PH is about 6.8. My husband has been shocking the pool but it doesn’t help. I know that we need to add ph. I bought some more shock treatment and some green algae eliminator.
My question is, in what order do we add the ph, shock treatment and algae eliminater and what amounts? I know that you all use different chemicals. I have read through the starting guide and the SLAM article. However, being limited to a simple test kit, I cannot follow the instructions in the article. I hope that someone can help.

I know that you all use different chemicals.

It's not that we use different chemicals, we are just very careful to use the proper chemicals in the proper amount. No guessing and no waste. Without a proper test kit you are driving blind. We hate to see that, but also understand your situation. Perhaps you could at a minimum get the FAS-DPD portion for accurate FC testing? Those other products you are using are just making the water worse. Don't add that junk. If you're going to add anything, just add liquid chlorine. That's it.
