Help, first year of pool owner was a disaster. Last year found TFP. Had a great year! This year struggling again. We have been slamming for 4 weeks. Earlier this week we replaced our multiport valve spidergasket was worn down to nothing. There was less than half sand in our filter. Inspected all the filter parts and think we have that under control now. I kept the Fc levels up through all of that and brushed. My pool looks milky. We have well water and every time we add water it shoots my alkalinity up. Not sure if that’s my problem. Now that we feel the filter is fixed is it just a patience issue on my part? Here are my current levels. 
That, along with the TA issue, are probably unrelated to the cloudiness, just seems odd. Four weeks is a long time to be in SLAM mode as well. Are you sure about your CYA reading?
I am pretty certain with the cya I always do the test three times to make sure I am reading the black dot disappears correctly. The alkalinity goes up each time I put my well water in after backwashes. My pool app says ideal is 60-80. I can not get it that low without tanking my ph. I will post a few photos. I will add we did remove the steps and scrubbed and cleaned out algae in those. So I know there is not hidden algae in those.
