Help. Pool company closed pool with auto cover today and I have issues. Gizzmo doesn't fit.

PS - is this a good thread sealant? autozone was the first link i found.

I have no idea, I've never needed more than Teflon tape. Hang tight for @JamesW.

I grabbed a new role of tape (mine was low) and got a cap at Ace earlier. Threaded it in and its a nice fit, but definitely feels like it could have some seepage. Maybe the teflon is enough, but if I can grab some of that too, I'm sure it can't hurt.

Rectorseal Tplus2. Teflon based, non-hardening is what I use.

Others like this (including @JamesW I think), but I find Tplus2 easier to work with and remove. And being PTFE based, the Tplus2 is absolutely compatible with the teflon tape.

I would say No to that sealant for a removable plug application.

You want something that will not cure or set up and something easy to clean off on opening.

Go with the Teflon paste.
