I have a skimmer in a 40 yr old pool that does not intake water. I have another circular intake that just takes in water. Bottom line this 32K gall inground vermiculite pool has to be fixed. I have been on my own for past 3 yr. and I have spoken to someone about fixing it. They want to dig up the cement apron and put only one line in the pump. That line is from the skimmer to the pool in the shed. does this make sense? to go from two lines to one line?
Any help would be appreciated!!!!

It's not uncommon these days to see pools that only have a skimmer and no main drain at the bottom of the pool.

They can help keep the pool floor cleaner, but most people have a robot these days anyway. That may be why some builders don't consider a drain as necessary as they used to.
