My inground vinyl by 36 has no booster pump and no dedicated suction port for a vacuum. Am I better off buying a pump and pressure vacuum. Or should I just go robot

For sure the robot!!! A booster pump and a pressure side cleaner will cost you at least as much as a robot, plus you'd have to plumb an additional line to the pool to make it work. Non starter IMO.
