Hello!!! I’m new here but I’ve been POOLSTORED too many times and I’m hoping I can finally move away from that. I can’t keep my pool crystal clear and blue. I my FC levels are dropping so fast! The pool is aqua with a green tint and I keep getting what I think is Algea at the bottom. I’ve already ordered a test kit that you guys recommend but it won’t come til Tuesday per the strips this is the current reading ( I added liquid bleach last night) The pump has been running all night and all day.

Welcome to TFP! Don't try to do too much right now until the kit arrives. Maybe add half a gallon of chlorine each day and brush. That's it. Once you get your kit post a full set of results and we'll get you through this. Be sure to updater your signature with all of your pool and equipment info.

I would suggest doing absolutely nothing till you get your new test kit and good pool numbers. Well, except keep adding liquid chlorine. Not sure size of pool but from pic I would add 3 gallons right now and brush/vacuum/circulate. I've had a vinyl pool in AZ for 6 yrs now and even when my pump died and I went full dark green, I was able to recover within a week or so. Vinyl is nice, don't have to worry so much about anything other than chlorine and ph. Salt if SWG.

Welcome!

At this point, there's no real reason to run your pump 24/7, especially if you're on a Time of Use plan through $CE. You'll will need to run the pump 24/7 during the SLAM Process, so plan ahead for that. Keep an eye on your pump pressure and clean or backwash when pressure increases by 25% over the clean pressure.

Take a few minutes to complete your signature so we can provide you with advice based on your pool and equipment.

Spend some time in Pool School so you're ready to move forward after you receive you kit:

You found the right place to get you through this. Best of luck!

They have 6k gallon pool per their profile - don't add 3 gallons. Half a gallon a day as Pat mentioned is fine until the kit comes in. :)
