Just bought a Intex automatic pool cleaner and the adapter has the wrong threads for my return. Anyone else had this issue? Any idea how to fix it? The adapter that came with it screws onto my intakes fine but that’s not where it’s supposed to go. Check the photo, the one on the left (dark grey) has small threads and mine on the right (light grey) has large threads.

I've been looking on Amazon for the correct adapter and I cant find it. Not sure how everyone is attaching theirs. I may try to 3D print one tomorrow. I found two different files on Thingiverse and joined them to make this. Should work if I have to go this route.

I recently ran into this issue. I just upgraded to a 12” Intex Sand Filter which comes with the correct return (which is 1-1/2”) therefore I’ll have to cut the liner. In the mean time, I connected the hose from the cleaner directly to the filter return and capped off the pool return while it was cleaning. Hope this helps.

Just saw your signature- the 12” Filter you have should have come with the 1-1/2” return- I’d cut the liner and install that prior to 3D printing one. Also, the upgraded return is much more secure that the stock return which appear to be some type of compression fitting.

Yes, my 12" sand filter pump did come with the eyeball return but I never installed it. I just got it out of the box and this is exactly what I needed. Thank you both for pointing me in the right direction. Now I just need to figure out how to install it. I never liked the compression type returns/intakes so this will be welcomed change.

I've been using the stock return with a 3D printed 45 degree deflector that's been working great.
