OK... i was doing great entering Labor Day Weekend. The pool was clearing up and I had planned to close a clear pool. I guess I wasnt paying attention and by he Thursday after Labor Day, my pool had turned green. I was going to just let it go green and deal with it next year, but I wont be able to close it until October. So I'm trying again to get it back clear blue again. Current levels are:
FC: 6.5
CC: 0.5
CH: 150
TA: 40
CYA: 35
PH: 7.2
Is my TA too low? I know with vinyl it really doesn't matter, but how low can I go? I started the SLAM last week, where I raised the FC to 12. And I really didn't lose any Chlorine over the next few days. So I let it come down, and today a week later it's at 6.5. I used my riptide vacuum yesterday, but for the most part the debris just raised to the surface. I decided to add DE and to my surprise the pool looks clearer today. Would manual vac be the best thing to do at this time? I just hate doing it because when vacuuming to waste I only get like 5 minutes of suction before the water level drops too low, and I hav to refill.
Next year I plan on getting a robot.
