We moved to NW Florida last year to a home with a big enough backyard to build a pool. We also wanted a spa and decided that we did not want to combine it in a new pool construction so we just got a stand alone one last month. We are still working out the kinks on that one as we are trying to balance out the water. Looking ahead, we have been getting different views on what is better in terms of value / costs over time for a vinyl lining vs gunite pebble tec pool. So, here we are, doing more research. We are in our mid and late 50's and plan on staying here for good now. Low maintenance is the ideal. Looking forward to reading many forum posts with this information, then on to the maintenance part.
