Considering taking over care of my 24 year old in ground 13,500 gallon pool. My filters need cleaning and I have Hayward Swimclear 425 cartridge. If I can take it apart, clean and put it back, then I will take over the pool maintenance . I currently have outsourced it for about 10 years while I had hip replacement, knee replacement and arch repair on one foot and big toe joint fusion on the other foot. Now I get around a little better and I think I can do it. That's probably way too much info, but you did ask...But, maybe I should have just said Hello from N Texas! I have download read your PoolSchool ebook and a TF-100 is on the way. I'm investagating sources for liquid chlorine. If I decide to do this I will probably use a combination of chlor tabs and liquid chlorine to keep the CYA at proper levels. This website looks like a excellent resource and I thank everyone who helped make it so.

Thanks for ordering a proper test kit and reading up on Pool School.
Be careful not to use pucks too often or you will find your CYA skyrocket. Keep them for long weekends away or vacation time.
When you have a question, ask in the proper forum. So when you do your first test with the new kit post the results in the Testing forum.
