Hello all. My wife and I are just getting started with our first ever hot tub. We jumped in kind of quickly and although I had a few doubts and moments of buyers remorse ( what did I do, am I really going to use this), I am now very happy we purchased it. I had back surgery a few years ago and usually have a lot of stiffness pain going from standing to sitting and sitting to standing. After being in the hot tub 30 minutes every night for two weeks, my stiffness pain has been greatly reduced. I first started noticing it just a few days after soaking.

Now I said we jumped in quite quickly, meaning one day, never before even considering a hot tub, we saw a Costco add with a sale on a hot tub for 3999.00 and said hey, we might be able to afford that. Then I researched and started chasing number of jets and pump hp, and was pretty set on a “Online” hot tub. After the online dealer advised me that their tubs weren’t really designed for -20F Montana winters, we ended up visiting a local dealer and purchasing a Jaccuzi J335. Not sure if it was a super good choice or the right choice but we were still in the impulse mode and it seemed like the best bang for the buck.

It took every bit of the month long wait for it preparing the hot tub “yard”. We had to remove sod, pour a concrete pad, run electrical, and build a privacy fence. That first soak sure felt good after all that work.

I am learning the ins and outs of the chemistry now and 2 1/2 weeks after the hot tub dealer left me with the tub filled with sanitized water, I have my water pretty well figured out and balanced. Still a lot more to learn but the wife is starting to get irritated with all the water testing I’ve been doing. Hopefully by the second fill, I will have a lot better knowledge from this site to be able to get the water balanced and stable in the first day or two.

Well kind of a long-winded intro so I’ll take leave now and thank you all in advance for all the help I’ll be requesting in the future.
Thank you,
John
