Hey everyone, first off thank you for letting me join; I have found this forum over the past few years with my above ground pool problems. But now that I am committed to the next 30 years I figured it was appropriate to join in and possibly generate some value as well as show my support. Starting the year of COVID my wife and I purchased a Intex pool, like 60% of the population, for our kids; we loved it and our kids also loved it; this was a suggestion from a friend of mine to not spend the money as I may not want the burden of maintenance, I took his advice and learned, loved and hated many days but never disliked it enough to not want more every time my foot touched the water. Fast-forward a few years and we purchased our second above ground pool which was a 16x33 Doughboy this time I got persuaded to try a mineral system and since my previous pool was a Salt pool I thought it would be great and similar; this was not the case and the entire year that I had the pool I constantly had to work on water chemistry which was not like the time I had with the Intex system.
That system was in place for 11 months when my wife and I decided that we would not be moving from our home and thusly we took the plunge into an inground system. We broke ground about 4 months ago and now have a 99% completed system. The pool is a 16x33 with 8x8 spa and has a depth range from 4ft to 5 ft (we entertain a lot), and this pool has been great and the kids have had an amazing summer, heck the entire neighborhood has has a great summer! The system is a Saltwater Pool with all pentair systems, I am still trying to figure out some of the configuration of the panel for automation and need to put a check valve on the hot tub so it wont drain when the pump is offline, which is why it is 99% completed.
