I'm starting the pool process for the very first time. I've gotten bids on vinyl and fiberglass. In general I like to do things myself so I'm also considering my options there.
If I go the DIY route I'm looking to build an 18x36 or 20x40 with approximately a 4' flat bottom all the way across with tanning ledge. I have a fairly flat back yard with easy access and a neighbor who has the expertise and tools to dig it (and the ability to get rid of the dirt!).
