I'm a DIYer and yesterday found my Pentair Superflo VS pump was giving me this error and had stopped working. The manual indicates this means "HMI interface has lost communication with the motor control". It says "Ensure that the 5 pin connector is properly plugged into the socket and that there is no damage to the cable ". Actually it's 4 pin and it was not the cause of the problem. I took everything apart and a bit of water came out of the motor control box, even though we've not had rain for months, which seemed odd. I dried it out in the sun and after a couple of times of still giving me Error 0021, it suddenly started to work again.
During our rainy season back in February enough water got into it that the GFCI tripped. Topk the top off and water everywhere. I had to uncouple it from the plumbing and turned it upside down and let water drain out. I ended up covering it up with an upside down food container. Is this common? Shouldn't a pump be designed to be able to able to take direct rainfall without it getting into the innards?
