Hi all,

I've had my in 28k gal in ground for about 3 years; now have a good comfort level with all my equipment and figured I'd look around and see if I might do things differently to save some $ and get away from relying on the advice of my pool builder.

I don't need to go crazy pinching every penny; just here to hopefully learn a few tricks. My water is always very clear (I spray clean and soak my cartridges 1-2 times per year), I have my water checked ever 1-2 wks, use my pool co's recommendations and chemicals; and have them open and close. I have always been pleased with the water, don't want to screw that up. Any advice on some of the more basic cost or time saving ideas is appreciated. -Thanks

BTW- I blew up my chlorinator the other week by using non-stabilized chlor tabs which were recommended to reduce/keep my scale down.. fixed and lesson learned. Using a tab in each skimmer and a floating dispenser is not keeping my free chlorine up. ..ideas?

Hello and welcome to TFP! We'll be glad to assist and help in any way we can. But I will caution you .... while you seem to be pleased with your pool service and testing, this forum is designed to help owners break away from those chains and take 100% control of their pool - most notably water testing. Often times we find that TFP methods are not compatible with pool store testing and recommendations. You'll see why as you spend more time with us. :)

But we're here to help, so if you have any questions along the way, just let us know. Have a great day.
