Got a Hayward H400FDN heater. The front display suddenly started displaying "Service" and "Standby" mode. Replaced the front bezel after Google search. But after installing the new bezel/display, it is completely blank (with either new old old bezel). Checked the back of the board and it still shows both the two lights on the pcb board on ("Service" and "Standby" ). The heater still does NOT turn on either via the remote or manually.

Can somebody please help?

MDP,

Can somebody please help?

I installed the Jandy version of this heater several years ago. It seems the low NOX, high efficiency burner requires more sensors. When I start it up in the winter each season I find there's a connection on one of them causes a "check system" or something. Each time I start with the pressure sensors by removing the wire cleaning the taps and spray some corrosion block on it. I cycled through all of them including each connection to the PCB. I had to do this for two seasons and so far it has worked fine. If this doesn't work then I'd download the service manual. They usually have a trouble shooting section and you'll be able to track down the source of the problem that way.

I hope this helps.

Chris

So you replaced the display board, correct? You never had any error codes on the display?

On these units many times you end up having to replace the display board and the integrated control board, FDXLICB1930, simultaneously. Sorry but that is just the nature of this beast.
