(No children were actually cooked) I just turned on my hayward heater the first time this year via my ps8 remote to the jacuzzi in my inground. And while the water temp read 78F, the kids waiting to get in came in telling be it was so hot. Ir gun tells me it was 105... anyone have the quick look for the first place to investigate? The temp seems accurate for cooler pool temperature this winter In socal. Haven't ran the heater in a few months...

You have five temperatures to report for your heater problem…
  1. Water temperature displayed on your ps8
  2. Heater set point on ps8
  3. Water temperature displayed on Hayward heater
  4. Hayward heater set point
  5. Actual water temperature in spa or pool as measured by a thermometer which you say is 105

What is the ps8? Hayward ProLogic?

  1. Water temperature displayed on your ps8 => 78
  2. Heater set point on ps8 => 95
  3. Water temperature displayed on Hayward heater=> have to check, I thought this was disabled with aqua logic, it generally says "lo" when the pump runs with no heat

Thanks, Added some replies above and will try again looking at the actual heater (no kids waiting this time)

What model Hayward heater?

I think you can put the heater under manual control from its control panel. Run the heater from its control panel and see if it heats normally and temperatures are correct.
