Hi Everyone,

I have a 17000 gallon fiberglass pool that currently has a Tristar pump (SP3210EE). I would like to make the jump to a vs pump but am unsure whether to just get the Tristar VS900 or the VS950. My only skimmer is 10 ft from the pump and my return line is through the Paramount Vantage self cleaning pop ups, one head at a time. I also have a floor drain line. I anticipate installing the Hayward automation at some point in the future. Is there any compelling reason to go with the more expensive vs950 pump in this case. It is about a $350 price difference. Thanks for any advice that you can give.

The TriStar 950 will be more energy efficient using less RPM and electricity for a given flow. It will also be quieter then the 900.
