Hayward system Color Wheel rather than Filter

Hoping someone can help. On my Hayward pool remote, where it used to say “filter”, it now says “Color wheel”..

The “color wheel” function seems to act the same as filter, but I am not sure why it changed and if there are any potential side effects that could cause me problems.

The only thing that I can think of that may have happened is that I did go into the configurations a week ago just to check and see if the freeze protection was on and what temperature. I am pretty sure I did not change any settings, but perhaps it was an accident.

I can’t figure out why it says “color wheel” now and what this means.

Picture is attached.

You most likely just changed the "Filter" "Name" in the configuration menu by accident.

Go into the configuration menu under "Filter Config." and click on "+". The first entry is the "Name" used for the filter

That worked! Just curious? Why would you name your filter all of the other preset names, such as color wheel, or bug light?

It seems like this function just turns on the filter. Why does it suggest these other names that have nothing to do with a filter?

Just trying to learn. Thanks for your help.

They are just giving the user the option to change the filter button/relay to something else if desired. It also simplifies the firmware by keeping all button/relay menus the same.

Which controller do you have?
