Hi all!

We came home from vaca yesterday only to notice the pump wasn't on in the afternoon. My Dad strayed at our house, and confirmed he turned the pump on in the morning (our timer is currently bad so we manually put it on/off). Upon switching it back on, I got the hum. Came here and did a search, to determine the capacitor may be the cause. I am getting ready to order one, and just want to be exxxxxxtra sure I am buying the right one because of this blurb in the Hayward manual. Does anyone happen to know the right one before I reach out to technical services? ETA: after finding this amazing article, I determined my pump was made in 2019, confirming my question on the correct capacitor.

Also, based on my readings, it seems a little premature for ours to go. This fall will be year 3 of our pool. In a winter climate where it is closed from Dec-Mar. I know we made a mistake by allowing the PB to use a SS pump, and will def replace it with a dual/variable speed, but still think it is too soon to replace the pump.

Thanks again!

YouTube how to take it out. Some reasonable care is needed, power off, don't let anything touch the business end of the capacitor, etc.

Once it's out, buy one to match the Uf and Volt readings. It may even have a part # on the sticker which makes cross referencing even easier.
