Hi all,

New to this forum and new to the above ground pool world. Today I went to switch my pump on and the toggle switch broke off. The pump is probably old - just purchased a house and it came with the property. It was working fine, aside from a sand filter issue. Hi/Lo turbo injection II. I ordered a replacement switch and it is not the right one. So,my question is, can I open the cover and manually turn it on to either setting safely and easily? It's a long weekend, parts are on backorder, and I've got a major collection of pollen and blackflies floating around there. Any help appreciated!
Attached picture if the beast, yes it's old and has seen better days, but replacement pump is on backorder with no estimated date. Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Open what cover?

What about the replacement switch you ordered does not fit?

You don't want to play around with hot wires if you don't know what you are doing. If you know what you are doing you can probably get a SPDT switch, a waterproof electrical box, and some wire and conduit and get it running.

Thanks!

To replace the toggle, I have to pop the cover off. So that's what I meant by open it up. The replacement they sent was a three way switch and not the toggle pin switch that was there so it doesn't fit. I checked all the connections inside and the appear to be connected and tight.

I guess I'm looking for a quick fix until the correct part comes in. It's hot and the bugs are dying on the water surface.

Again, I am clueless to this stuff. It's my first time owning an aboveground and I believe the equipment is quite old.

Until you get your pump running pour 3-5ppm of liquid chlorine in the pool daily and stir it with your pool brush. That should keep you water clear until you get your pump running.

Will do! Thanks! I've got the low setting working now, sonit should be ok. Now to deal with the sand filter slowly pouring sand back in 😂😂 The joys of a pre-owned and not cared for pool setup!
