I have a Hayward OmniPL panel and controller running our 8k gallon saltwater pool. The pool has been operational for just over 1 year, it was part of a new construction so we did not oversee the installation, we just got a brief rundown from the installer upon purchase. About 6 months ago I noticed the HLXPL Control pad was very sluggish to respond to push commands and then it went blank, although you could see the unit was still getting power because of the glow of the screen, but there were no icons. A reboot of the system by flipping the breaker seemed to bring things back to normal operation. After this happened again a few weeks later, we had the installer replace the controller. Now, we are having the same issues again. The installer troubleshoot the system with Hayward and they refused to give us a new controller since the reboot of the system fixed the problem (temporarily). The builder said they replaced the pump and the salt cell within the year that it was built. I am trying to troubleshoot this on my own now. Does this sound like a power issue? Could the power cell be the issue? I assume they replaced the cord to the controller when they replaced the controller. Anything else I can try? This is a rental, so I don't have access to the pool until August, but I wanted to begin sourcing replacement parts if needed.
