I am contemplating purchasing an Omni hub via eBay. The price is significantly less than retail. Is it worth it knowing the risk that I wouldn’t have a warranty?
I purchased one from Ebay several months ago, saving $500 was worth it for me. Installation instruction can be confusing especially if you don't know what you're looking at. Particularly when it comes to the RS485 wiring. You're going from 4 pin on the control pad to 3 pins to the Omni. You don't get any warranty but tech support will still help you troubleshoot when you call.
The unit has the old partno on it (G1-019345) instead of HLONIHUB but they have shown pictures of it and its got all the items (power whips, smart relay, touchpad, pcb and enclosure and temp sensors.) They are offering it for significantly less than MSRP more than you saved @dannieboiz. My only dilemma is as follows:
1. I have a pentair intelliflo VSP pump 011018 (old model number) and bought it in 2017. I want to integrate with the hawyward omnilogic using the hlpmpconv board for intelliflo pumps. I am assuming that I need to buy HAYWARD COMP VSP PUMP CONVERTR. I am also assuming that I need the old RS485 cable that has the green and the yellow wire in it that is: https://www.amazon.com/Pentair-350122-Communication-Plumbing-50-Feet/dp/B0087N4TUY. I been told on the older pentair pumps that the rs485 comm module is encased in resin (I didnt pull off my drive module and open it to verify) but otherwise I found that cable on ebay for 40$.
2. Has anyone integrated their OmniHub and gotten the pump to display as a HUA device and talk successfully over RS485 using an intelliflo pump and the HLPMPCONV daughterboard module?
