Hayward Multivalve Port Handle

I installed a brand new Hayward Multi-valve port just last season. Should the handle have any play when the filter is on? I can move it up and down. I don’t recall my old valve having any play. It does not appear to affect the function of the valve. But wanted to check with the community.

Also, any reasons why I keep getting puddles on top of the valve? This was happening last season with a brand new valve.

There's usually some vertical play with these valve handles. Shouldn't be getting any water on top of the valve though - you have a small leak somewhere inside it.

Thanks. The puddles seem to occur only during back wash. Not sure if that helps in identifying exactly what is leaking.
