I have a 1 year old Hayward 140k btu heat pump. I began the summer discovering ants had infiltrated the circuit board display and ruined it. I replaced the entire board yesterday and everything appeared to be working ok. I could feel cold air coming off the fan and the temperature increased a couple degrees over 3-4 hours. I got up this morning and there was no power going to the unit. The breaker had been tripped.
I turned the breaker on and everything started working (at least the display was on and the fan was running). I could hear something that seemed like it was trying to turn on but would only last 2 or 3 seconds. I'm assuming it was the compressor. I powered it off and shut off the breaker manually while trying to get hold of my pool guy. I was hoping to have it going for the kickoff weekend. Any ideas what could be wrong? I already checked the wiring on the circuit board and it was correct.
this is really frustrating since it is only a year old.
