I have a 10 year old Hayward H400 FDN pool heater. It’s worked flawlessly for the first 10 years. This season I had IF (ignition fault) error and replaced the flame sensor because it would fire up but go out after about 30 seconds repeatedly. After doing this it fired up and continued to run. By the next day I had IF errors again. I pulled the igniter and found it corroded and in pieces. I replaced this with a new igniter and presto she fired up and ran all day. The next day I now had bd (board) error. I found the cause was a blown F4 fuse. I replaced this and again she was running like a champ. The next day bd errors again…..I found the fuse blown again changed it and she is again running. Any idea why after changing these tow components I would suddenly get this blown fuses and how to identify the actual cause.

Welcome to TFP.

Sounds like a few unrelated pool opening glitches.

Your heater is talking to you. 10 years is a good run. See how much more you can get out of it.
