Hi! I attached a photo of my recent PH test result. Is anyone able to tell me what the reading is? I just can’t get used to determining the color match. Thanks!!

Some of us use four drops instead of five. That seems to help with the color matching.

And this is how I do:

Start at 7.4 and the square right next to it. Just focus on those two blocks. Ask yourself: does the square look like it has more pink than 7.4, or more yellow? If neither, that's your match, if you think it has more pink, then move up to 7.8, look at the square next to it, and ask the same question. If yellower, move down a row, etc.

I focus on one row at a time like that, instead of looking up and down the columns looking for a match.

It's hard to do from a pic, your pH is probably about 7.6-7.7.

It is approximately 7.8. I find it best to put my finger across each one and compare the color of the single line above it or below it.
It makes looking at 1 line easier to read.
Also, the sample pool water should fill to that line directly across from the pH word.

Tip #2, is your comparator see-through like mine? If so, the color behind it is going to affect the color of each block, for better or worse. I hold my comparator in one hand, under a pure white under-counter LED light, and a piece of white card stock in the other hand. I hold the card behind the comparator, and angle it such that the LED light kind'a reflects through the comparator. This helps me "tune in" the colors, and eliminates any background colors that might affect the matching.

Thanks, I will try this tomorrow.
