Hey all. I noticed that my testing block might have been cast(?) wrong? The pH column wall is not straight like the Cl. There must be a volume difference and also I’ve noticed that looking straight on makes the result a color that doesn’t really match to the indicated numbers — I need to look at it just angled away from the crooked side to hope to get the color I see to match on the scale.

I’m less worried about the accuracy of a couple drops (although that does worry me). I’m more concerned about having to coax it to show me a color that works at all.

Just validating this isn’t as it is designed. Will likely get a new one or see if I can trade. Thanks! (Weird side on the right in this photo)

It took me a bit, but I do see the mold variance near the bottom how it tapers down and inward. Let's ask @Sarah and Nate for their take on it since they see hundreds of these each day. If an exchange is required, they'll be sure to make it happen.

I won't discourage seeking an exchange, however because the pH test is a color comparison rather than a titration test the volume doesn't appreciably affect the results. In fact, when there's difficulty reading the pH test we commonly advise trying 4 or 6 drops to see if it helps make the reading more obvious.

That’s super helpful and yes I was doing the 4 drops as I saw in a different discussion but your explanation makes that make a lot more sense.

I probably will try to swap as the colors really do change with just the slightest angle change even using a sun simulator etc. thanks!

Oh cool -- yeah I'll hit you up. I was actually playing around with 3D printing a drying rack for all my tubes and speed stir spinner when i noted it. This place is awesome.
