Has anyone ever painted a skimmer faceplate cover?

So I have a dark blue skimmer faceplate cover and it has faded in color.

Was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to paint it instead of buying 2 new ones?

Or will the paint not fare well against chlorine?

I attached a picture showing what part im talking about. It’s the cover that goes over the screws so you don’t see them.
