I am converting my Coleman 18'x48" above ground pool to PVC pipes. Still using the pump that came with it, but will be upgrading that during the off season. Wanted to get other people to double check my plan before I order the pieces for it. Yes, I know the coleman/intex pump/filters have a special threading on them, and I know a part to order from Lowe's that I can use the existing hose nut to connect to the pump/filter until I upgrade it. I'll be cutting little bigger inlet and return holes, and installing a skimmer too (forgot to label skimmer in the image below).

Please let me know if I missed anything here or if anyone else has any better ideas about how to do this. Thanks.

Also, you can click on the image to go to my Google Photos album where you can actually read the text on it.

I'd read to use this https://m.lowes.com/pd/CARLON-1-1-2-in-PVC-Adaptor/3461190

How did you use that adapter? I'm connecting PVC to the male threads on the pump/filter, so I need female threads. Planning to cut the stock hoses to get 2 of the special threaded nuts, then fit the piece I just linked through that nut and into PVC.
Ah, yes, the box adapter. I thought you were trying to connect the Intex hoses to the PVC.

I'm getting the stuff this weekend to do it, however I am significantly changing my design. Running a conduit to the pool for electricity and gonna have the pump and everything next to the pool. A lot cheaper and easier
