Gorrilla pad, cove and sand

Folks,

Hope all is well.

I'm getting ready to place the paver bricks on my supports and compacted ground, but I have a few questions before I proceed.

For a 24' pool I'm getting 3 yards of screened sand which should be plenty given I'm using a foam cove. But I'm also using a Gorilla pad below the liner. That being said, if I'm shooting for 2" of sand, I assume this means that I'll have about 1.5" of sand above the bottom track? i.e. the support base is flush with the ground and the bottom track is about 1/2" in height. Therefore 2" of sand will be about 1.5" above the track. How do you best keep the track free of sand when installing the wall? Just keep the sand piled back a bit from the edge until wall is install?

Now for the Gorilla pad and cove. I assume that I place the Gorilla pad down and then the cove is placed on top of the Gorilla pad at the edge. Do you recommend duct taping the seam between the Gorilla pad and the cove?

I'm also installing a wall foam as I'm hoping this will help retain heat and additional liner protection. Do I overlap that with the top of the cove? Or do I place that tight up to the seam on the cove and duct tape it?

The best way I know how is to leave it in a mount in the center of the pool area while you are installing the pool. Once the pool is up spread it to the walls.

We had ours done by an installer, as we had to have the panel by the skimmer replaced due to rust, hence the liner was replaced also. He leveled the sand, placed the gorilla pad down, placed the cove and taped the joints. The wall foam, which if like what we have, comes in rolls that are 48" high. They used a spray adhesive made specifically for this application, taped the joints. As our pool walls are 54" high, the top of the roll doesn't go all the way up. I feel these products help to keep the water warmer and extend our season by about 2 weeks.

My instructions with my floor pad said to put the cove first then the pad.

I am a DIY project. Check my signature for pictures.

I used a small paint brush and an air compressor to keep sand out of the track. Like the guy above said, put the sand in middle of pool while putting wall up.

I put the foam coves up and the gorilla pad to the middle of the cove per instructions. I did use duct tap to connect each cove end to each other. The sticky back held well to the walls.
