Hi all,

Is it ok to leave the pump and swg running 24/7 while gone for a week? Anything special we should do? I doubt I will get my 2 speed pump or timer set up before trip so I think 24/7 it has to be...

Also how much does it really increase your electric bill? I googled and based on rate of about 9 cents per kWh, I think it costs about 30 bucks or so to run 24/7 for a week, does that sound reasonable?

Thanks so much!!

Biggest issue is being sure your water does not fall below the skimmer or the skimmer getting plugged with leaves, etc.
Any neighbors to check that?

Your pump will consume about 1500 watts per hour. So about 36 kwh per day.

Having a pool is like having a dog. Sure you could leave a bunch of food out for a week but the chances of having issues and an angry dog (pool) is greater. Better to have someone come and check on it a few times to make sure there aren’t any issues. And have a friend who has one also be the person to come over. At least they’ll know what to look for as far as issues. Sorry... couldn’t resist the analogy.
