Gnats/biting flies

Ok I’ve had it. Everything that bites will bite me. I get little swarms of gnats around my pool and in my yard and they bite me. I also have what look to be red mites and I swear they bite me too. I only have these when I have a pool. How do I get rid of these so I can enjoy my time outside?! I am going to put out DE in the grass because we have ants and apparently hookworms but the gnats aren’t in grass.

We use Buggins on ourselves for the gnats - we also spray the yard a couple times a season alternating between

Lambda-Cyhalothrin

& bifenthrin - those buggars gotta land some time!
I try to use igr every few sprays & it really helps put a dent in the population.
I also use borates in the pool - every little bit helps.

Thank you. I believe I have some igr. We usually spray igr and permethrin for fleas but we haven’t in several years as we have t had any flea issues but
