Hello everyone! I've been reading on the site on and off for about a year and have learned a lot. Everyone here is so helpful and provides great advice. I am in the process of gathering quotes from PBs for a new pool in our back yard. I have two children, currently 6 and 4 and we have found that when we go to friend's pools, our favorite part is hanging out on the stairs or the shallow end while the kids go crazy. We have designed a simple pool that focuses on lots of room for seating while still having plenty of play space. I have gathered some details from one PB that we really like. They are the local branch of a national company. They use Hayward equipment and after providing the information in the proposal below, I asked them to confirm equipment details based on what I could find. I have listed out what I have gathered so far and was hoping to get feedback to make sure we are headed in the right direction. I have also included the initial renders of what we are looking at. There are still some tweaks to be made, but it's very close to what we had in mind.
The Details
35' x 18'
~20k gallons
Gunite with a pebble finish
3.5' shallow end going to 6' in the deep end (I have specified that this needs to be water depth)
Pool Builder Proposal
4000 PSI Concrete Pool Structure - Lifetime Warrranty
Custom Bullnose Travertine Coping - Standard Selections
6" Frostproof Waterline Tile - Standard Selections
Schedule 40 Plumbing( 2 ) Skimmers ( 4 ) Returns (I will be sure to ask for skimmers to be on separate plumbing runs)
Electric From Service Panel To Equipment
Exponetial Bonding & Bonding To Equipment
(3) Entry Steps, (1) 35' Long Bench
Removal Of Dirt From Excavation
Salt System (AquaRite system 40k gallon rated)
Omni Wirless Controls w/Phone App (Confirmed this is the Omni Logic)
TriVac 500 Automatic Cleaner (I am going to ask this to be taken out and I will get a robot)
SMART 600 SF Microban Cartridge Filter (I couldn't find the exact model for this as they are large builder and said this model is exclusive to them)
SMART 1.8 HP Varible Speed Circulation Pump (TriStar VS 900 1.85HP)
( 1 ) Universal Color LED Light in Pool (I didn't confirm the model, but I believe this will be a Universal ColorLogic LED light)
Quility Pebble Finish - Standard Selections - 15 Year Warranty
Permits
500K BTU Natural Gas Heater w/Gas Line Run & Hook Up (Hayward Universal H-Series)
UV/Ozone Sanitation System (I know this isn't necessary. They are adding it in as a bonus for signing this month)
I had a few questions that I was hoping you fine people can help me with
It seems like one light may not be enough for a pool this size, is that correct? How many would be recommended?
I got the impression that I wouldn't receive any credit if I asked them to remove the UV/Ozone system. If not, is there any harm in leaving it in and running the SCG as normal?
I don't know much about the OmniLogic system. I really just want something that I can adjust the pump and heater remotely with. Will this do the trick?
Is there anything else we should consider with our design or setup?
Thanks in advance!
