Hello all, I just had a 30' Round pool with vinyl lining relaced after 17 years of service. It's about 21,000 gallons and I am trying to figure the chemicals because my pool guy retired. I have an inline chlorinator installed but haven't used any tablets yet. I have added 3 gallons of chlorine and dissolved 1 pound of conditioner/stabilizer in a sock in the skimmer. The PH tests at 7.6. The alkalinity is 140 ppm. I am wondering where to go from here since this will be the first year I am doing it on my own. Do I add another pound of conditioner to the skimmer? I assume it will probably take around 5ish? Will that bring down the alkalinity or do I need to add mauritic acid? I would appreciate any help I can get! Thank you!

I'd get a proper kit ordered first, if you don't have one of these, get one: Link-->Test Kits Compared
^^^This.

The only thing I would do is add 1/2 gallon of liquid chlorine a day until your kit arrives.
Your pH test is fine, the rest are not enough, hence the kit recommendation.
Keep your pH in the 7s, use muratic acid to lower pH when pH gets above 8 (purple hues).
You can download pool math to help you with how much to add. Link-->PoolMath
