For vinyl pool, is low Calcium Hardness not something to worry about?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of balancing out my chemicals and see my CH is 70. So I look up recommended levels and see that it depends on the type of surface the pool is. I see a few different ranges for CH but I also see some people saying CH for vinyl pools isn't something to worry about unless it's too high. Is this true? What about the return jets, filters, pumps, pipes, etc.? There's Calcium Hardness Increaser from the last owner in the shed, so they must've used some.

Low Calcium is not a problem unless the pool also has a heater.
The heater coils often (but not always) require a certain level of calcium which can be found in the manual.

People use lots of unnecessary chems in their pool because someone told them they needed it & sold it to them, calcium chloride for vinyl is no different.
