We bought a house with a pool. We were going to tear it out and put a new one in later. It got hot very quick and its a refreshing teaser. It was winterized apparently and the filter basket and the outlet( where chlorine tab goes in also) hose were taken off. I re attached them both and have checked the gaskets fixed any leaks. There seems to be good suction from the skimmer. However, the stream going back to the pool is intermittent. Ive checked for clogs the best i can. What else would cause the outbound pressure to be minimal?

Have you checked all skimmers to remove all the gizmoes that get put in when "closing" a pool?
Any valves you can turn to open things up?
How high does the filter pressure get? Does it go to zero when the pump is off?
