Short story: 18' round AGP. I have a 3/4HP two-speed pump whose flow rate on low speed is just a TAD too slow to activate my SWG. And I do mean a tad - sometimes the SWG will kick on, run for a little bit, and then the low flow light comes back on. There is no problem running at high speed, but I really want it to work on low speed if possible.
I have thought maybe changing the hard plumbing to remove a couple of the right angle turns might make enough of a difference to let the SWG work. Using flexible PVC could potentially avoid three right angle turns each on both suction and return sides. I am wondering if I could use a flexible hose to temporarily replace the existing run of pipe to test this theory.
Is it feasible to test such a run using pool hoses instead of pipe?
(And I would happily buy a VSP if I could find an appropriate one that was corded, rather than hard wired.)
