Hi all,

Just did my first floc ever. Seemed to be a success. I left it overnight, it settled on be floor and I vacuumed to waste. However the pool remains a bit cloudy so I may try it again.

The floc I purchased seems to indicate you can run it through your sand filter and it will form a gel layer that improves filtration. I didn't do it that way, rather followed the advice of doing recirculate then vacuum to waste.

However, if I can just run through my filter and backwash its way easier to have they gunk accumulate in the filter and would save a ton of time and water.

Does anyone have experience with this specific method? I'm using Aqua Floc. Is it actually safe to run through a sand filter? If not why is the manufacturer telling me to.

TFP does not recommend the use of FLOC. We can't comment on how the manufacturer says to use it. If you can get it out of your pool you're lucky- too many folks who come here have major problems after using such a chemical.
