Hello, though I’ve had my pool many years, this is the first year I am opening by myself. I connected everything, but I have one piece that I can’t figure out where it belongs. I would appreciate if anyone could guide me.

That looks like a pump drain plug- most pumps have 2.
1 under the pump basket and 1 near the middle of the pump underneath

Be sure to lube the little orings- actually all the orings in all the places (pump lid, any unions etc. Its easiest to just do it every opening and know it’s been done.
