Recently moved to Auburn, Ca, into a house with a pool and a hot tub. First time owning a pool. I'm currently maintaining the hot tub myself (owned hot tubs for 25+ years) and considering taking over pool maintenance as well as I'm already doing a some of it.

I'm a retired engineer but never did well with chemistry! Been using test strips for the hot tub but just ordered a TFtestkit.

Hot Tub is a ~1 year old Sundance Optima, fresh water. Pool is a ~17year old in-ground plaster ~9000 gallon with an automatic cover, fresh water, no skimmer, water flows over edge into a trough. We installed solar heat last summer which enables us to keep the pool warm in the shoulder seasons without using the gas heater.

Looking forward to learning and eventually contributing to the community...

Thx, Dave
