Hi All,
I have a new 24' x 52" Intex Ultra frame round pool that is going up and I will be having fresh pool water delivered to fill it.
My question is when water is delivered is there certain things or a certain order in the way I should test the water when delivered before adding chemicals ?
Should I add certain things and run filter for a set amount of time before testing other levels ?
Sorry if this has been covered but I cannot find the info.
Thank you in advance for any help

What we need to know to answer your questions

If you can fill in that info, the experts here will chime in.

You need to get a good test kit, first thing.

TF Test Kits

and read through

Pool School

Testing the fill water before, or while filling will give you the info you need and a head start on what to add as per https://www.troublefreepool.com/calc.html when you've calculated your pool volume. First thing is to get chlorine and stabilizer at the appropriate level and go from there. They can both be added while filling, but since you're getting truck filled I can't imagine that takes very long (I filled with city water from my hose)

Go ahead and test the fill water and use pool math to figure out what you need.

Shoot for 30 ppm CYA and FC of 4-6

Put the CYA in a sock and let it dissolve fully, you can put it in as water is filling. Note it will take 24-48 hrs to show up p a test. Assume you have the correct CYA provided you add what pool math says, and dose your liquid chlorine.
