Hey y’all, we have a 15,600 gal fiberglass saltwater pool. It’s about a month old. We have a Hayward SWG, it’s been set to 100% output on the Super Chlorinate mode since the builder started it up and it’s showing a reading of 3100. I just did my first test with my Taylor K-2005 kit and am a little lost on what to do next. Our calcium hardness is very low (I even tested it twice to be sure). But we also have some other things out of whack, including CYA, free chlorine and our pH is at the high end.

We have also been getting white flakes and some scaling (most evident on our skimmer and water wall as shown in the pictures). I assume this must be related to calcium? I’ve read not to add calcium to fiberglass pools but we are so low that I don’t quite know what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated. We are in north DFW area. Thank you in advance!9DC2BEDB-822E-4A50-98C4-148356626DD5.png

Please add a gallon of Liquid Chlorine to your pool today- you are risking algae by letting it sit at zero. Fix it now, and we'll figure out what is wrong with your settings later.

How long do you run your pump for daily?

Your pH is high, you need to use PoolMath to tell you how much muriatic acid to drop it down to about 7.6.

Raise your CYA to at least 60 by putting CYA stabilizer into socks hung over the edge of the pool (not touching the wall) and let it dissolve. Squeeze now and then to speed things up.

I believe you're seeing Efflorescence - Further Reading on your wall.

How does the water look??
