Hi all - This is the first year of opening opening a new-to-me 90's model IG vinyl pool. We opened it late and it was a little cloudy with some algae on the floor/walls. Pool company added 5 gallons of 12.5% SH last night. Pool this morning is clear with some algae remaining. I realize now I should have asked them to wait on the bleach until I tested, but numbers from this morning are below. CYA was very low when we closed the pool, so of course it's still low. I still need to SLAM since I see algae, right, even though the CC is 0? (photo included from immediately after opening) Should I now raise the CYA to 30-40? I haven't done this before. Granular in a sock (like a literal sock?) in the skimmer basket is best? Thank you so much!

ph 7.2
CYA: less than 30
FC: 10ppm
CC: 0

In case you need this ....................

Adding CYA:
To increase CYA via granular stabilizer, place the required amount as calculated by the Poolmath calculator into a white sock and place in the poolside skimmer basket. For those concerned about suction flow to the pump, suspending the sock near a return jet or from a floating device will also suffice. Best never to allow undissolved granules to rest directly against the pool surface. After soaking for about 20-30 minutes, squeeze the sock often to help it dissipate. Once dissolved, consider your CYA adjusted to that programmed (target) level. CYA test readings should show a rise in 24-48 hours, however some pools may experience a longer delay to fully register. Best to confirm final CYA in about 5-7 days before adding any more stabilizer/conditioner.
