Finally got the pool water at optimum levels, and the pump quit working

After a bad algae opening, SLAMming, and daily testing, I finally got the water perfect! Then, the filter stopped working. It appears to be the capacitor since the impeller spins freely, so fingers-crossed. Trying to find the right capacitor locally is a challenge. I finally ordered online and should have it tomorrow. On the bright side, I am learning a lot about our pool equipment!

If it's not one thing it's another. Not sure if you know your FC level right now, but if you think it's low, you might consider adding a little liquid chlorine now and brushing it around really well just so that you "hopefully" avert another algae mess.

I dropped in LC, swished it around a bit, and put the solar cover back on (it is sunny today). It tests at about 3ppm. I'll have a look again later and add more, if necessary.

With a CYA of 60, and FC of 3, you are asking for Algae. Your min is 5, you should be 7-9!!! Get some chlorine in that pool, or you will be slamming!

I got the capacitor today, and the filter is running perfectly! Yay! Water is a little green so I upped the chlorine to get 8ppm. Hoping I don't have to SLAM again. Combined Chlorine is .5 so I have fingers crossed. If I don't have improvement by tomorrow morning, I will definitely SLAM.
