So construction was just finished on my pool, a representative from the company that handled the construction informed me how to operate all the equipment. Unfortunately, after cleaning the filter, I left the top valve in the filter container open for about 3 hours. This meant that the water that would normally fill the filter container would spit out of that valve periodically ( I assume it was periodically). I only noticed about 3 hours later when the container spat out more water. The water level in the pool went down to about 1/5 of the skimmer openings height and I am trying to fix the problem. Any advice / information welcome

Welcome to TFP.

Sounds simple. Turn off the pump. Add water to the pool to get to the right level. Restart the pump and open the filter release valve to expel all the air. Close the valve again and you should be good to go.

Do you think there's something mysterious going on?
