Filter clamp leak

Hi

It appears that I have a leak around my filter clamp on my Hayward filter. From what I’ve read,my plan is to loosen the black pressure valve on the top of the dome then to loosen the filter clamp Maybe replace but definitely lube the O-ring replace the clamp using a rubber mallet and then tighten.

Just wanted to check with you guys before I started

When I unscrew the clamp I found that the blue O-ring was protruding through. It overall looked good and I just lubed it up with petroleum jelly and tighten it all back up. Seems to be working well

Start shopping now for a new O-ring.

They don't like petroleum-based lubricants. The rubber swells. That's probably what happened to it originally, and why it started oozing out. Buy some pool-lube or aqua-lube when you pick up the O-ring.
